Sharp Aquos LCD TV
This year Sharp again has come out with another popular line of Aquos LCDs with the D64,
D82 and D92 series of LCD tvs. They are available in 42", 46", 52" and 65" models.
This year's Sharp LCD tv models come with an attractive slim design, in fact they are
25% slimmer then previous models making them the slimmest Aquos LCD tvs ever
built. These full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080) lcds are capable of playing the
latest high definition programming as well as HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs. In
addition to home theater use, they are a great option for your new video game console or for use
with your computer.
Sharp 52" LCD TV
The
Sharp Aquos LC52D64U 52" 1080p LCD HDTV is one of the more popular Sharp LCD tv models and offers a
lot of bang for the buck for home theater owners.
It has a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, quick 4ms response time and wide 176 degree viewing
angle. It boasts deep blacks that make for one of the most accurate blacks of any flat
panel.
In addition, this Sharp LCD tv model offers a bright, vivid color picture. It is able
to improve color reproduction through a four wave-length backlight system which adds a crimson
red to the tradional three wave-length backlit pallette of red, green and blue.
The
Sharp Aquos LC52D82U 52" 1080p LCD HDTV improves upon the D64 model with the addition of 120Hz fine motion frame rate
for smoother transitions which is especially important for sports and other fast action
images.
The
Sharp Aquos LC52D92U 52" LCD HDTV also includes the 120Hz fine motion frame rate, but also adds a deep green to
the pallette making it a five wave-length backighting. In addition, the D92 boasts
an improved 15,000:1 contrast ratio and detachable speakers.
Are there any drawbacks? When CNet.com reviewed the D64 and D92 Sharp LCD tv models it
noted concern over an uneven uniformity, better known as "banding" which presented itself as
subtle horizontal or verticle bands on the screen. This banding is one of the few drawbacks
to an otherwise solid performer.
The Sharp Aquos line offers a high quality LCD at a competitive price. If you
are looking for a new tv for your home theater room that looks attractive both when turned on
and turned off, you owe it to yourself to consider these tvs.
